Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully aware of where we are and what is happening. It also prevents us from reacting on impulse to situations that we may find overwhelming. Mindfulness is something that all of us possess naturally. However, it becomes more readily available when practiced daily. Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing through your senses, or to your state of mind through your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. Furthermore, there’s growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain and its networking.
